Araucarias
The araucaria, also known as monkey puzzle, is Chile’s national tree. It is most commonly found in the country’s southern landscapes, growing to imposing heights among the mountainous and rugged landscape. The branches are covered in rugged thorns that possess a unique shade of green that can only be seen in araucaria forests that have been here for thousands of years.
In this collection, Alfredo captures the textures of araucaria trees as well as a few lonely specimens thriving in the windy, grassy hills of Icalma, in Southern Chile.
